Before you strain your back, pulling the ripcord or you wear down your starter, you’ll want to check these five potential issues.
- Use fresh gas. If your mower has been sitting all winter, drain any old gas and start fresh.
- Replace the spark plug and make sure it is firmly screwed in.
- Check to see if the air filter is dirty. It may need to be replaced.
- Be sure the carburetor is tightly bolted to the engine.
- If your starter cord is hard to pull, be certain there are no clumps of grass clogging the underside of the mower deck.
